Floor Heating

Floor heating is becoming increasingly desirable to make a floor more comfortable to walk on in bare feet, or as a primary heat source for a room with a concrete floor.

Floor Heating Systems

Floor-Heating-Commercial.jpgPentair Thermal Management offers electric floor heating systems that can serve as a primary heat source, as a heat loss replacement system, or as comfort floor heating.

Other heat loss replacement systems, such as hydronic heating systems or forced air systems, require complex designs that:

  • Need regular maintenance to various components
  • Pose a potential risk of leaking fluid into the surrounding areas 

Pentair Thermal Management systems are simple in design and consist of:

  • Electric heat trace cables
    • Raychem RaySol heat trace cables adjusts their power output to compensate for temperature variations
    • Pyrotenax MI heat trace cables are supplied as complete factory-fabricated assemblies consisting of a heating section that is joined to a non-heating cold lead and terminated with NPT-threaded connectors
    • Raychem QuickNet floor heating mats have the heating cable woven onto an adhesive-backed fiberglass mesh that allows for simple and faster roll-out installation. The floor heating mats are compatible with all standard subfloor materials and are low profile to minimize any increase in overall floor height
  • Connection kits and accessories – items for making electrical connections and properly completing the installation, such as power connection and end seal kits and junction boxes
  • Advanced control systems – devices such as sensing thermostats and controllers, monitor and/or control the heat trace cable to help maintain the temperature of the surface
  • Power distribution systems – electric panels for installations that require power distribution with single-phase or three-phase circuits
Comfort Floor Heating

Pentair Thermal Management offers floor heating systems that provide comfort floor warming or supplemental heating in places like lobbies, foyers, bathrooms, kitchens and gymnasiums. This heating system can raise the floor temperature so it is comfortable to walk on in your bare feet.  We offer three different heating cable technologies for this application:

  • Raychem RaySol heat trace cables
  • Pyrotenax MI heat trace cables
  • Raychem QuickNet floor heating mats
Radiant Floor Heating

Pentair Thermal Management also offers floor heating systems that provide primary space heating for rooms with concrete floors—like garage floors and commercial warehouses.  We offer two different technologies for this application:

  • Raychem RaySol heat trace cables
  • Pyrotenax MI heat trace cables

For this application, customers provide us with the BTU requirement for the area and floor construction information so that our Pentair Thermal Management representatives can provide design assistance.
